The Feldenkrais Method® has a wonderful application for those who have suffered a stroke. A popular book of Moshe’s called, Body Awareness of Healing Therapy: The Case of Nora details his work with a woman who suffered a stroke so severe she could no longer live independently. The book outlines his thoughts as he works with Nora as well as her progress; and, within those, some of the principles fundamental to the Feldenkrais Method.

One of those principles is the brain’s ability to learn, even in adulthood. While only a recently accepted idea in society, Moshe was teaching this concept in the context of his trainings as far back as the 1950s. If you or someone you know has suffered from a stroke, see what the Feldenkrais Method® has to offer.
